BRICK STUDY

Parametric Brick

 

This parametric exercise explores the application of several rotated brick patterns across any kind of surface. The script outputs geometry for individual bricks that can be utilized in light/shadow studies or for integration into BIM software for documentation and detailing.

The types of patterns include: 

• Rotate All Bricks - control the degree of rotation

• Rotate Every Other Brick - control the degree of rotation

• Rotate Random Bricks - control the degree of rotation and the percentage of surface area to rotate

• Tapered Bricks - Offset every 2nd brick course proud of the wall face, by an amount that tapers to be flush to the wall face over a variable distance. The tapered distance and the max offset distance can be controlled.
