CANstruction Boston | Theme: Mythical Creatures

This project was completed with a small group of Payette people in 2017. My role was to design our chosen mythical creature, the Kraken, and help lead the process of ordering cans, fabrication, and construction. 

​

This was a fairly simple exercise that allowed us to quickly populate sketch ideas with cans; this allowed us to iterate and truly understand what our creature would look like once it the resolutation had been reduced. Larger cans resulted in fewer "pixels," so we had to take into account that our design should be more iconographic, rather than realistic.

All cans were donated to Merrimack Food Bank in association with CANstruction Boston. Payette leadership supported our team financially so we could contribute as much as possible, though we didn't quite reach 20,000 beans...
